Wow, I would be pretty upset at this point. Any more than a month is pretty unacceptable. Once all the hard parts are aquired, there is no reason this guy cant put it together in a day.

I know. In the beginning he said it would only take a few weeks. Now months. He has it finished. Just needs to ship. I know he will ship. But how long do i have to wait.

Someone needs to make a full how to pic by pic on how to rebuild these trans. If I had that and read it over several times until I felt I knew it in and out I would re-build mine or a spare. I know someone with a spare just sitting that would be great to re-build and throw in. Mine is still hanging in there but I know it's gotta be worn at 200,000 miles. Building one up with extra clutches/whatever and strong shifts and better gearing would be nice.

Buy an ATSG rebuild book and then jot down what he just said that Jeff swaps out for 65E parts and then go get those from the yard from a GTP... Only issue with that is you need to buy clutch packs seperate which may cost more money in the end over a trans star rebuild kit. I just dropped 230 on one and it has raybestos clutches but its all 60E parts, not 65E

I didnt go as far as using the 65E sprags or main input packs because well I didnt have issues before with the one I built... it still shifts strong and never slipped, SO I'm hoping that this one will respond the same, but who knows, I'll be pushing about 65hp more than before min..

Jon ah good I'll check that book out. What brand parts do you recommend? I know you had something fail and went back for a better one and then it was fine. Also that 4th gear spline does that come with a rebuild kit, and are all aftermarket ones hardened?

no you need to get hard parts separate, I got those from Bulkpart.com, and I will recommend them for all hard parts needed. The rebuild kit I bought comes with all clutches all steels, all bushings and all seals, it was 234 from northenautoparts.com its a Transtar rebuild kit with raybestos parts. And for small misc items such as the diff lube tube retainer, and misc shims, and the trans go shift correction kit, I got that from transmissionpartsusa.com. Thats the place that I bought a 1-2 roller sprag bearing from and it was a stock style one and that failed in 2 months... I then bought a borg warner one from bulkpart and its been fine ever since. They changed the design of the springs that hold the bearings so they will never com in contact with the center race, the stock ones were of a really bad design.

I ordered an LSD from Jeff in October. Still don't have it. Supposedly was shipped 3 1/2 weeks ago. I email him today and told him I want my money back. This is rediculous!!
