ok first off when i come to a stop sign or what have you. i hit the gas to pull out the trans has to kick back into gear. i was told it was prolly my kickdown cable and that it was streched. well my '95 z26 (3.1 L) has no KD cable. what could be the problen as to y it slams into gear. now this dont happen all the time and the tranny works great other then that.

secondly my reverse lights only come on in neutral. any suggestions on how to reset it

u may have a misadjusted cable from the gear shift to the transmission, or a bad range sensor on top of the trans, check the nut and make sure it is tight.
