Well since I did my OBDII swap one of the first codes I got on the higway was a PO1870, Transmission Component Slip.

Now I read up on this and it says it can be a result of a worn valve body in the TCC area... but mine is brand new and has the supplied TCC fixes by sonnax. I'm wondering if its possible for the Converter to be the one that is actually causing the code. I plan to swap it out when I do my motor now, but I wasn't thinking of it before.

Any input? Agree Disagree with my thought?

As of right now I just shut that code off with my tuner and the car acts as normal, goes in and out of every gear and goes into torque lock too.

I would hate to have to pull this trans again and fix it, but I'll do what I have to do.

can I ask, did you change any of the mph vs rpm shift point settings, or is the computer originally from a car other than a Beretta? (Can't remember offhand) Or heck, did a '96 Beretta have different size wheels? I had the same code come up after I changed the tranny shift points, and didn't take into account 'lag" time for the shifts. The points I made at first was basically assumed the shift was instant, but in the real world it isn't. Made an adjustment and never saw the code again.

I did change the shift points because the trans is not the original gear ratio for the car. I'm confused on how shift points would cause that code.

The odd part is that code comes on only when you are on the higway crusing... I could clear it and drive around all day in town varrying speed and whatnot, but as soon as I get on the higway and go a constant speed and it locks the converter the code throws...

BTW when scanning in torque lock my converter shows a 300-390 RPM slip amount... Is that too much?
