For the benefit of mankind (especially those with GM products), I'm posting my review of Dexron VI. I changed the tranny fluid in both of my cars recently- an '01 Lumina with a 4T65e, and a '94 Corsica with a 4T60e. Both transmissions have been serviced very regularly (every 15,000 miles) for many years. Both vehicles have over 150,000 miles on them.
After the fluid change, the 01 Lumina drives exactly the same as before. The transmission has always worked fine, and the Dexron VI made no apparent difference. But- the '94 Corsica's 4T60E hasn't been completely flawless for years. For the past 30,000 miles or so... when I would take off quickly (half throttle or more), the transmission made sortof a periodic vibration ( a quick rrrr-rrrr-rrrr) just before shifting into second. It never really got any worse and I wasn't too concerned about it. After changing to Dexron VI, the noise just went away. I thought it was my imagination at first... but it's been two weeks now, and I can't even MAKE the car make that noise anymore. In my humble and unscientific opinion... Dexron VI is good stuff (and it better be at $6 a quart).
