I'll be picking up my '94 HO Quad 4 tranny this week to swap out the bellhousing on and use with my cammed 3500. My original plan was to just use the whole thing but after doing some reading it seems as though it might be a bit much.
here are the gear ratios...
1st 3.50
2nd 2.05
3rd 1.38
4th 1.03
5th 0.72
Axle 3.94
and here are my stockers
1st 3.50
2nd 2.05
3rd 1.38
4th 0.94
5th 0.72
Axle 3.61
According to DD2K the engine makes peak HP at 6500, cruse RPM is around 3K or so.
What do you guys think...
Swap over the 4th gear and use the stock 3.61 FDR
Swap over the 3.94 FDR and leave the rest alone..
Swap in the whole 83K mile tranny and deal with it.
I'm not worried about gas mileage, this thing won't get better than 15 MPG or so anyways... Maybe 20 on the highway. It's intended purpose is to get down the track as fast as possible and it's not a daily driver. LOL
