Sounds like a misunderstanding.. IMHO the weakest part on all these transmissions (3t40,4t40/5,4t60/e65e) is the final drive. Strengthen the pin and spinders, or find some way to get more lube to them, the gear boxes will last under high load. If you trans is slipping under extra newfound power, you might wanna find a way to boost the pump pressure. Doing that will keep you clutches from burning....which I think is a problem for 4t40/45?s. Anyways I want all you doctors to calm yourselves.

well there is no need for all of this really, he(lvemy3100) did say that my trans wouldnt last over 250 (hp im guessing0, and that it wasnt a good build with just replacing parts that gm upgraded and putting in a raybestos pack. he had no idea what all parts are offered, will be offered, or what else might be in the works with me. i told them that i was another option and didnt want to be competition, because i dont make any claims right now, just that i am gaining insterest in trans builds, and that i could basically do any good perf build. i didnt quote any hp ratings or anything like that other than saying it will take a beating, and how do i know this, well i just replaced the clutches in my 1st trans build on my car, beat the pooh out of it for 40k miles and no probs yet, when i had the stock clutches in there, it was all sorts of bad, esp with the DHP PCM with the adjusted settings
and yah i do know that a generic tune for the engine isnt as good as a custom, and neither is the trans settings, because the trans also uses inputs from the engine to determine shifts and patterns. i can attest to that because my DHP PCM was supposed to only shift at 6k in every gear, 1st -2nd is about 6300 to 6400 rpm, a little high right now for my valvetrain, and the 2-3 is about 6100, so yah thats what a generic tune can do. also i personally talked to the trans techs at raybestos, and they told me there is no need for the koleen steels really for up to 300 to 350 hp, because all of their testing on the frictions were done with the stock steels. and the koleens are nice, but when they break they take even longer to get and cost alot more than a stock set, which isnt proven very weak anyway. also i take my car to the strip any chance i get and the only prob i get with consistency is the trans heating up due to me not installing my trans cooler yet. i think the pin is a bad point also on the trans, but thats really about it. the bearings are all high cap.
also on TE, i went to his site and seen what was done, and the reason for the 2nd build in the first place was the lack of close inspection of the case and internals i think(at least thats what i thought he said about it on groomlakelabs). but he had the last one tested, and its still holding up AFAIK, its the engine and drive shafts that are a prob.
Tdunk no offense to you, none to Lvemy3100, or gpse, i just maybe flew off the handle, but i didnt go knockin his stuff so i would expect the same in return. and also i hope that we can all exist together, and yah about milzy, if you look on his future projects, he is looking at a trans also...so thats another one.
everyone in the end gets to do whatever they want, ill leave this issue alone as long as no one decides to call me out. and Diablo im not BS-ing anyone...if you would care to point that out, im all ears...or eyes in this matter
and if there are any more probs or concerns, just pm me, or email me
