Would this tranny be a worthy upgrade, or could a guy do better? How's the price? I don't know too much about tranny rebuilding.

I would almost tend to think that you could pick up a low mileage 4T65E-HD from the junkyards for less than that.......... You could probably source the pieces out through Intense then.

If you're really serious, I wouldn't recommend anything for a GTP other than Intense. If it can handle Scott's 670hp (except for his 3rd gear issue) it can handle anything you can throw at it.

                LOL

Intense packages well but the product is not a brand. Its still a Gm rebuild with many parts available to any transaxle shop. Yes even the input shaft can be done very easily and DP does custom shafts on a regular basis. This is not first of a kind just a first documentation for the average Joe.

670HP is posted but the dyno sheet reads different.

Look on the GP forums and you will find that even old allies of intense are spilling the beans as to the "secrets".

I still believe Scott makes a "good" unit but exclusive I think not.

The limited slip now offered by DP is much better than the old intense unit and even incense?s attempt at coping the adaptation to the 4t60- series is still inferior.

Lyle I know of a guy in your area who can do a unit for you equal to a intense or DP unit. He also does some great turbo work.

If you are interested I have great connections in your area and would be glad to pass them on to you. I gather you are not only looking for a good unit but some sort of backing of the product.

That's right. There's too many shops around claiming to do "great" work. I'm not spending 4 grand on a peice of shit. I want to end the tranny issues once and for all.

Where's this guy located, what shop? I'm interested for sure. Plus, I don't want to get it done and have some one say, "Oh my god, I can't believe you had your car done there!" Anyway you know what I mean.

I'll go beat Ty up for you.

He's been really busy. I'm sure this thread just slipped his mind.

264 HP and 284 ft/lbs at the wheels(@9psi), power curve like none other!
And the transaxle to get it to the ground!

Except that one time at the track right?

I am pretty sure that tranny is not what he sells as a general rule. Not that he'll tell you that. Besides that he charges too much.
