  • Doing some work on the Cutlass Please Help

I just bought Rear Struts and Rear Brakes for my 1996 Cutlass Supreme 4 Door.
I was wondering that while I have the shocks off, what bushings can I change and would I be able to change. i have a groaning sound when I hit bumps and it's driving me crazy.

BTW. . .I only paid about $23 for a Pair of Gabriellie shocks brand new on Ebay. the brakes were about $9. shipping was cheap.

    Thanks,

    Dan

groaning sounds from the rear is almost always the rear spring end-pads being worn out. Look at the tips of the monoleaf, the pads are between that and the knuckle. You can take a chance and replace them and hope the glue holds, OR a much less painful job of picking up a set of MOOG spring pucks. They basically lock onto the knuckle and take the place of the old pad, and since no glue is required it's a guaranteed fix (I've had new glued-on pads fall off) they can also be found at napa. Link coming shortly.

if it is a bushing makeing a noise i recomend marine greese... i live here in florida... and i threw in those ES poly bushings... everyone says how they get noisy but i've had them for a while now and they are still nice and quite... and if in the salt air here doesnt cause probs... then it should be good in cold and rain...what ever you can throw at it.

BTW. I used to live in Daytona, actually Ormond. I hung out at Bel Air Plaza poll hall when I was younger by Seabreze HS.

          Thanks,
