anyone know a site i can pick up some new front struts for a 92 chevy Lumina z34. hopefully under 200 bucks i am on a tight budget

Autozone will let you rent their tool kit. You don't compression anything, just keep the alignment with the strut housing for the insert. You can get KYBs from tirerack for pretty cheap as well. If this is for the car you are selling, just throw whatever is cheapest I guess but KYB should be under 100 for both front struts. Its 80 to rent the tool kit and you get your cash back when you bring it back.Ben

Monroe and Gabriel both make "Quick-Struts" or "Ready-Struts" which is the whole assembly with springs, mounts, struts, insulators, dust boots, etc. all in one package. You jack the car up, unbolt the tie rod ends, remove the top and bottom bolts on the struts, pull them out, and bolt the new set up in, then get a front end alignment. They were about $170 each for my 93' Beretta
