H&R springs with stock shocks/springs

question, how advisable/inadvisable would it be to install H&R lowering springs with stock shocks/struts rather than going with new kyb's. the car is a 99 grand am v6 with 65k miles. any/all input appreciated.

I wouldn't advise it. The struts have some decent wear on them as it is. Go the distance and get the new struts.
