  • I'm stumped

I've got a 96 Lumina and recently it started having a problem, it seems the brakes have been hanging up. When I come to a complete stop and then start again it feels like the car doesn't want to accelerate, then something releases and it goes fine. It only does this when I come to a complete stop. It is intermittent but it seems to get worse the harder I stop. The other night I did front and rear brakes. New pads, rotors, drums, shoes, and even wheel cylinders. It was still doing it yesterday so I took it out and drove it to do a series of stops. After doing this it seemed ok, but then it was doing the same thing today. Next I went to the transmission, it is full of fluid and it looks great (the fluid and filter were changed 1 year ago.) I hooked up the scanner and checked for proper shifting, it was fine. The only thing I haven't checked is the parking brake cable, could this be my problem? I really don't know what else to try on this thing, any help would really be appreciated.

did you check to see if the sliders on the brakes were clean and lubed? that is my best guess the parking brake normally just hanges up one side only or just the rear. just check the brakes for excive wear.

The brakes have been replaced and the slides lubed. I think I might need calipers but I'm not sure and I'm sick of spending money on it for now so it's just gonna be driven how it is.
