  • Brake Myth

After Hemets post, I had to bring this up. Lot of reading, good info. Break in your brakes. http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/wp...rakedisk.shtml

They seem to know. I've held this site for over a year now. The spelling sux. Oh well...

    RE: Brake Myth

How the hell are you supposed to break in your pads? Trailer your car to the highway and then start?

some pads like ebc's come with a special top layer with a break in compound.

Obviously, some can't perform a break in. I can. And my brakes are pretty damn good for a W Body. They do need replaced at this time however. Maybe today. And I always replace all 4 wheels at the same time, for consistency.

I merely posted this to do away with the myth of "warped rotors". This is the first thing people blame when their brake pedal pulsates under load. It is not the case as the article states. And can be resolved without turning the rotors, which, if not done properly, can do more damage than good. Plus the added cost and time involved.
