  • Big Brake upgrade?

i've only seen RSM offer this, and it looks like a damn good upgrade, but as everything else, kinda sky high. I COULD see that kit (FRONT) going for around $800, but not a full G. Same with the rear. I'm thinking 6-700 bucks.

Does anyone else offer a big brake upgrade? Obviously there are brakes out there that will fit.

i might have very good news for both of you because i was about to post a new topic to see if any body has the big brake upgrade thats on w-body.com. it seems really stright forward and even though there not as big as the rsm ones its a nice size difference. 10.1 to 11. sorry to hijack but has anyoe done this upgrade? if so how much of a difference was there? hope this helps because i plan on tryin it because my back slide pins are frozen beyond repir so it needs to be done anyway.

i have done that brake swap on two cars, but mine already has that stuff on it. what year is your car gpracer? i wonder what brackets rsm uses, although i assume they make it themselves. that's the hard part is finding the right bracket that will bolt up to the existing knuckle and accept a larger caliper.

yea, mine is a 92 GP, so i can't use the 94+ without having to fuck with shit, and from everything i did this summer, i'm feelin pretty goddamn lazy right now!

But i e-mailed heldmotorsports about making a kit for the 88-93 GP. I haven't gotten anything back yet, but we'll see. They have a NICE kit for the 94+. I'd MUCH rather go through Held than RSM. I've not heard one good thing bout RSM's shit, and if i'm gonna do some hardcore braking (i.e. autocross) i don't even want to second guess my braking system. SO hopefully i get something back soon from Held

            i don't see 10.1 to 11 as a 'big brake upgrade" though.
            10.1 to 13, now that's a brake upgrade

Heldmotorsports offers this for the 94+, but i'm waiting on a reply for the 88-93 W's

it was a general comment but it would seem that you would see a descent difference for the money compared to 800 dollars. anyway with gas the way it is im not going fast anytime soon unless its down a steep hill.

                haha, true true.

But yea, i'm thinkin going with the heldmotorsports upgrade. It's $1100, but i'd rather pay that extra couple hundred to them and KNOW i'm getting quality shit. Knowing what RSM does, they probably take stock rotors from another car and take a drill press to them to make "cross drilled" rotors

Seems like held is a reputable/respectable place to shop through. I'm just hoping they can send me an e-mail back soon whether or not they'll be able to make that upgrade for 88-93 W's

you dont have to mess with much. it's cake. i'm not too impressed with hms either based on their coilovers only.
