I got a 95 Grand prix SE 2dr with a FE3 suspension.
i installed the rear addco sway bar on today...
Got everything working just like in the instructions. had 2 mechanics help me. (this was aT A local CLUB GP MOD DAY).
so the problem is that, the bar can slide back and forth at least 1 inch. And i'm using my hand to move it back and forth. The Bar isn't rock hard firm in there. What is causing that? It came with new brackets, poly urethane bushings(we applied a lub or sumthin so it wouldn't make noise)....
The car makes a light thump over each bump i drive over. it doesn't bother me too much but can seem excessive when being heard over and over again..
the brackets seem to fit the bushings well. but the guys at the mod day think it might need smaller bushings on the end?
also on another note, the factory sway bar: how can i explain this with out a picture... U know those fencing swords, they have round plate right above the hand to protect the hand from being hit? well the sway bar had a round plate(like a washer around the bar) 3 inches in from each end of the bar. It was part of the bar. and the 3 inches on each end of the bar went into the bushing, and that washer like end seemed to stop the bar from going further into the bushing. And that stopped the factory bar from swaying back and forth. .. but the ADDCO bar doesn't have that.
