My wife was driving home (she has the white cutty), and she said the car was making an awful noise and the car would hardly go forward. She pulled it into a lot, and called for a ride home. She did not want to go another inch, because of the noise. The noise originated from around the drivers side front.
I won't be able to get to the car until tomorrow, but was wondering if any of you had any ideas what is wrong? She thought it may be the transmission - i said no way, it wouldn't just lock up like that, especially since there weren't any prior symptoms. She says "the car will go in forward or reverse, but it is like, it is stopping itself, it grinds, then it even makes a loud "clunk"." It was hillarious having her describe the sounds :-)
I'm thinking it sounds more like a locked caliper. This happen to any you before?
Thanks,
