  • Big Brake Kit

    That can break your wallet...

First of all you may want to make this sticky for people who are serious about their brakes. These cost a pretty penny but they have other calipers and rotors you can get.

    Some Pics...

    Front Kit
Two Piece Cross Drilled and Slotted Rotors (12.81"x1.25")
    Four Piston Forged Dynalite Calipers
    Rear Kit
Two Piece Cross Drilled and Slotted Rotors (12.181"x.866")
Four Piston Forged Dynalite Calipers (No parking brake)

I plan to put them on over my spring break and I will post pictures of them on the car when I have them.
The price is SERIOUS, expect about $2000 for each kit (front and rear), but they include all hardware including stainless lines and mounting brackets.

These where custom, I ordered them in February or 2004 and got them December.
Precision Brakes Company made them for me. If there is enough interest I could contact them about a group buy, I have made many friends there over the year. If you have questions ask me because I've asked them all.

2 grand for fronts, 2 grand for rears, and no parking brake. That really is for serious buyers. I could see putting them on a pristine 69 SS Chevelle, but not a $3,000 W-Body like mine. I do buy the $75 dollar pads though.
If you are driving a Chevy, everything else, is just a blur. 3.4 Carbon Footprint.

      RE: Big Brake Kit

You neglected to state what platform these are for... however I'll assume it's for W-Bodies since your screenname says Z34 in it.

That's not much more than the RSM kit I don't think... And they are Wilwoods!!! That's a big plus.

I would be seriously interested if they implemented the parking brake (otherwise these are not exactly a desirable upgrade for a 5-speed owner).

They look good for a track-only brake upgrade. That's a lot of money to drop on a brake upgarde that isn't street legal. The Wilwood Dynalite calipers do not have piston dust boots, which means dust and water can get into the caliper, and you would have to bleed your brakes often, and flush your fluid out frequently. They probably didn't tell you that part.

          RE: Big Brake Kit

I think they may offer a way to adapt a parking brake. But I have no idea how much more that would be. As far as the dirt and water they told me that it would be best if I changed the fluid every time I changed the pads. I ended up doing that almost every time I messed with my stock rear calipers anyways. Platform is Z34 specifically 92. These size rotors do require an 18" wheel. And you can get different calipers if you want but you end up with smaller rotors and maybe spacers.
