  • 94 grand am gt death wobble

I've balanced tires (and rotated), replaced balljoints, replaced lower control arm bushings, the tierods are tight, and yet I am still getting a bad shake at 60mph. sometimes, it is better or worse, sometime when I'm going real slow (like ~5-10mph) it'll move the steering wheel back and forth like 2".

could my rack and pinion be loose or going bad?? what are the symptoms?

also, my front tires have a weird wear patten on the outside edge, like the toe in is real whacked, except that the wear pattern isn't constant, some spots are worn more than others.

I figure it needs an alignment, but I don't think that will fix my shimmy.

    any ideas?

I'd get it aligned, and get new tires. Sounds like a belt may have either shifted, or separated in one or more of the tires.

I've probably going to try the tires. however, I have had these tires on the back with no vibs in the back, only in the steering wheel.
