  • Question : tricks so I do not have to service my rear brakes

I do know that these brakes on these W body cars kinda sucks moose balls. It seems like you need to service them on a yearly basis or you have to replace rotors and or seized caliper sleeves/bolts. Is the design on the rear prone to water ingression?
One time I replaced the sleeves with these non metal ones, I think it was like light green ceramic which they say will never rust hence not seizing. Guess what? those ceramic ones seized as well, then you got the rotors rusting because the pads do not even touch the rotor surface. Besides removing them each year and disassembling and lubing it all up what do you use or special grease? I will need to replace the rear pads and rotors and not sure if the sleeves are seized again.

You should be servicing the brakes every time you rotate the tires. That includes lubing the caliper slides. Every 3-5,000 miles.

Okay, I am getting lazy and looking for a product or sleeve grease that will not wash away, or deteriorate from winter's salt and calcium.
Looks like I will need to get off my lazy ass.

Take the bolts in to have zinc plated and use synthetic high temp lube grease not oil for the sleeves.

The zinc coating sounds excellent but it would need to be done at a specialized shop? I can buy the synthetic high temp lube at the local shop.

You can probably do it yourself, but the cost would be high for start up.
