FFP COILOVER INSTALL 8 PICS (a must see!!)

my brother in law (a firestone mechanic) finally installed my rear ffp coilovers yesterday with kyb struts... took only about 2 hours.. although he brought 4k worth of tools home from his job just incase.

the back of the car is a few inches lower than the front. and i have 3 more inches of lowering adjustability.... for some reason it makes a creaking noise when i go over bumps. i need to find out where that noise is coming from.

whats that clunk noise that i hear when i go over bumps? sounds like my bushings are bad or something. all the pics work for me.

The clunking noise means you need to line up the spring better...

thanks a bunch. what should i tell my brother exactly(my mechanic)... "just line up the spring better?" it hasn't had an alignment yet. i'm not driving it though. but oncee i line up the spring better will it be fine?

Just make sure you have the spring seated and centered on the sleeve and upper mount.

if i go over a large bump and go airborne won't my spring get out of alignment?

is it hard to get my spring out of alignment??? i mean after i get it aligned. will a series of moderate bumps make it go out of alignment?

It is going to take one hell of a fucking bump to get it to come out of it's seat. And anyone who takes such a bump in one of these cars that does cause it to do so should be smacked about the head and neck area profusely. Just jack up the car, and watch for when the spring is no longer seated on the top mount. Then you will know how much suspension travel you can go without it coming out of it's seat.

When you are lowering the weight back onto the car, just make sure the spring is centered in the upper mount and that it seats fully on the lower perch.
