I just replaced my ball joints in my 95 berretta and was just wondering what you guys use to torque the ball joint castle nut.my normal torque wrench would not work with the cv axel in the car.and Is it even possible to get the cv axel in if you torque the ball joint first, I wasnt shure if this was possible. so for now i just used a box wrench and tightened to what felt close for the torque spec. My book said 55 pounds and then turn 60 degrees more. Is there a special tool for this?? It feels ok going down the road And how would I check the tie rod ends. I assume you check them for excess play. thanks for any help with this

To check tierod's just jack up one side of the car and try to turn the tire side to side and see if you can see any movement near the boot area. It should be soild.

Yeah my tie rods are OEM, or at least never been replaced by me, and I'm starting to think that may be my shimmy, or maybe my inner tierod bushings.
Time to do those this year.
