    Hey guys,

    I have a 1995 Grand Am and need some decent rotors for it. Unfortunately, I am pretty harsh on the brakes and I have a lot of surface cracks on my current rotors. On my Trans Am I had issues with warping until I put a decent set of slotted and drilled rotors on there. Now whether or not it was the quality of the part or the slots/drills that help is debatable, but I was trying to find a decent pair of rotors for the Grand Am too. Any good manufacturers out there to look for? I can find a lot, but I want something that is proven and I have limited knowledge on these parts for the Grand Am.

    i would go for slotted, but not drilled... heat and stress can cause microfractures around the drilled holes and REALLY ruin your day...

        I tried the non-cryo treated powerslots but they disintegrated from corrosion after a few years. I'm currently on a set of EBC USR rotors with decent results but it hasn't been a year since they were installed. 92-98 Grand Ams also share the same brakes as 95-03 Sunfires and Cavaliers.

          I will never run crossdrilled or slotted rotors, unless they are Wilwoods (or similar) on a race car, and race car only.

          The best upgrade I did to my Malibu, was to change to Impala front brakes and Alero rear disc brakes.

          Unfortunatly, I think the '95 Grand Am is closer to the J-body in brakes than the later N-body, so a similar upgrade would not be as easy as it was for me.

          I would suggest using good quality rotors, and pads, but not slotted or drilled, I found I had better braking with a stock brake rotor over the slotted counterparts, on my J-body.
