  • rear sway bar

hey im planning on gettin a rear sway bar for my 94 NBod im still using the stock front bar but i put new polyurth endlinks on there. I was trying to decide between an addco rear bar and manta part. the addco is a 1" diameter bar which equates to a lil over 26 mm. the mantapart bar is a 26 mm bar. the addco is 45$ less but i thought the manta bar would be better quality anyone got some input? the only other issue is that the addco is for 85-94 and i did a 95 grand am sedan rear suspension conversion so it may not fit anyway. but i was just seeing if anyone has input on the manuf. and their products

The Mantapart one is probably just an Addco (or other brand) that they sell for a higher price. That's what half of their stuff is anyway.

If you converted the rear end to the 95 spec, what Sway bar did you use when the stuff was being swapped around?
If you retained the 94 sway bar then use a 94. If you used the 95 Sway bar you need that one.

I'd like to know what syspention you had stock. Is it FE1 FE2 or FE3 ?

To find the RPO codes look under the spare tire cover.

FE1 : SUSPENSION SYSTEM, SOFT RIDE
FE2 : SUSPENSION SYSTEM, RIDE HANDLING
            FE3 : SUSPENSION SYSTEM, SPORT

            Even FE1 has sway bars.

Here is some more information on N-body suspention

small front + no rear bar = Fe1

              small front + rear= Fe2

              Large front + rear =Fe3

all i know is i had a 95 sedan SE and bought set of sprint springs crashed that car bout 94 coupe SE and the front was the same rear had smaller beams and such and had smaller cone shaped springs so i converted to the 95 rear which has cylidrical springs if i have a chance ill take a pic of the rear set up

i suggest swapping to the older rear end like out of a 92ish GTZ, then get a Z51 swaybar or the addco, that should be pretty good right there, if you want to get crazy weld up some of that torsion beam with plate, it'll be uber stiff then, heh heh

ok well i checked it out and i have the fe2 set up right now i didnt realize that the sway bar was inside the main beam like that however the old suspension is supposedly fe2 as well allthe the rear beams and springs and everything were diff. so im just gonna go with a 95 sway bar since thats whats on there right now
