  • Bigger Brakes?

Anyone know if I can utilize fullsize brakes on a 1986 S10 Blazer 4x4?. Are there any mods available, without going to the aftermarket?. Any input will be greatly appreciated!!. Thanks. Late.

Why do you think you need bigger brakes?

Because of the increased stopping distance that will be required when adding larger tires and the suspension mods, rollcage, bumpers, etc. Looking for a way to decrease stopping distance as cheap as possible!!. I heard about adding the k1500-k3500 fullsize master cylinder and JTR (jags that run) hints in their book about adding the brake booster from a 4.3 V6 S10, don't know the 3 digit number to look for though, cause I don't have the book.!! Any suggestions or input?. Hey neo71665 did you get my pm?, i replied to the one you sent me. Thanks. Late.

        No PM

What I'm doing is putting a 2nd gen blazer rearend with disks and hydro boost on mine. I'm also planning on doing a SAS so I'm not trying to waste much in the factory setup.

Check out sy-ty.net. I know they are not 4x4 or worried about mud riding but since they are AWD and share the same basic front end as us most all their findings will swap over to us.

Told ya I search around and nit pick the best of everything to steal ideas from.

Yeah, I thought about adding the 2nd gen rear axle, then all i'd have to do is add the 2nd gen master cylinder and call it a day!!. I wish I had a typhoon, their pretty awesome!!. I've browsed the site before, but thanks for the reply, i'll go ahead and take a look at it for further information. I've seen several s-series dedicated websites and i've got them written down somewhere, but I need to find the paper I wrote the sites on. If I find it, i'll post all the sites and maybe get others will chime in and post some of the sites they've visited!!. Thanks. Late.

I remember leaving the 60v6/GMF/S10F meet in Akron. The next day when I went to work and dew had formed on my car I found out the S10F guys (as silly as they are) had wrote S10F OWNS J00! on all of us 60v6 guys back windows, lol. This being back before it was PWNS.

Damn that was a ways back if it was still in the GMF days, not dating yourself are ya, lol.

I tend to only look at the 60 degree section and arkansas section over there cause of the lack of maturity in the rest of the site.

Thanks for the links neo, BTW, I know it's just a typo, but the syty site is www.syty.net. I posted the sites I had written down somewhere on here and I also posted them over at the s10 extremist site, maybe someone will chime in and add some others that are unknown or new....thanks. Late.
