  • Wheel sizes....

Hey guys I am thinking about buying some 18" wheels and was wondering if anyone knew the step up conversions to get the factory tire diameter or a website where they are listed.

Basically I'm wondering if 235/40/18's will fit. And also, I have the old TDC full suspension with coil overs in the rear and 1 1/2" drop up front. The rear should be no issue, and from what I can see I should have room up front. Truth be told, I'd like to get a smaller diameter than factory as it raises the final drive ratio a bit and with an auto, that could pay dividends.

Also, as an update, I will probably be doing a top end rebuild in the next month. I have an extra set of heads that I will be porting and polishing and I'll probably do the lower/upper intake as well. Afterwards, I'll try and get on the Dyno schedule at school and see what kind of numbers they yield. If someone has tried the reground cam set ups we were talking about and has some results, post em. As I'm doing the heads I'd be very interested in the cam regrounds to get that much more out of em.

Ohhhhh, just tried a tire mfg site. They have 26.1" diameter listed for 225/60r16's and 25.4" d. for 235/40/18's. Please feel free to comment, but I think I answered my own question.

Hmmm, so if I change from stock tires to 335/80/23 and travel at 60 MPH on the speedometer, I'm really travelling at 104 MPH?
Damn, I wish I owned a tire shop. I'd love to tell some foolish ricer that - him and his friends would put my kids through college!

I'd love to see you bolt those onto your car. Cause I'm pretty sure they would say for mining use only on the side. Plus where are you gonna put that spare?

Might actually be able to handle some of these Edmonton pot-holes. Hey Verboten?

Yeah, my existing rims have 3 bends that I can see. I think that's pretty bad cosidering I dodge them like crazy and still roll the factory 60 series rubber. Fuckin' pot-holes.

I lost a chevette in the pot holes here once. Never did find it again. I think the road signs should say Minimum Maintenance instead of speed limits and names.
If it\'s fun, it\'s probably illegal and if it\'s illegal I\'m probably doing it.
