  • Rear end wobble

So the latest on my '94 Lumina Z34.... when taking a long sweeping left turn the rear wobbles side to side like a wheel is lose... Immagine a keg rolling from one side of the trunk to the other a few times in a corner... the rear end literally wobbles. I replaced the rear struts and checked the leaf spring, the pads are intact and the leaf is sitting in the correct location... The trailing arms are straight.. the front lateral link is bowed a little (not any more then any other W-body ive owned). Im dunno if i bushing is shot or the lateral link is bending while in the turn and causing the wobble or what... Any suggestions?

if your car is also making quite a bit of tire noise, I would say you probably have bushings that are worn out on the front or rear lateral bars (center of car to back of arms) my Cutlass has all 4 (heavy duty suspension) and I am about to replace the 3rd of 4.

Take a good close look at the rear tires across the tread face......possibly you have a tire that is suffering from belt shift. It may not be enough to feel the rolling when driving straight, but when you load up the sidewall in a turn then you feel it.
