  • Question : Squeaky after new struts

Great site and happy to be here.

I just installed new KYB struts on my 02 grand am gt. I still have that annoying embarrassing loud squeak / stress sound. I have echbach lowering springs with about 40K miles on them as well. Should i replace those too? I also have strut bars front and back and I can hear the front chassis cracking / stressing when going over bumps as well.

The ride is horrible, I thought it would get better but to my surprise it stayed the same. Im completely at a loss and I want to restore the sporty quite ride i once had, I just have no idea whats wrong. Any ideas or personal experience would be so appreciated. Thanks

A friend of mine had eibach progressives on his cavalier z24 years ago. The car handled great after that but was very stiff. If you went back to the stock springs it would probably be more cadillac like. Having the strut bars is a definite plus for any suspension.
