Just did another rotor & pads brake job on my 1 owner 180,000 1997 monte carlo 3.1 with ABS.. This is usually a replace-and-drive-it job for me but this time i've got a hard brake pedal. I did'nt bleed the brakes as i did not crack any bleeders. She'll stop in time ok but not as sweet as she used to....No codes showing.......Any suggestions......Regards.....Tom

it could be the pads you put on.. usually the brakes would be spungy if you need to bleed them.Shane "RedZMonte"

excuse my blindness (lol).....thats a 97 Monte....that will have Delco's ABS VI system....not Powermaster III....I did have a link saved to this article on the ABS VI.......have a look at the last paragraph on bleeding the system http://www.motor.com/magazine/pdfs/062001_04.pdfLast edited by 55trucker; 02-10-2009, 11:47 AM.91 LQ1 GP GT
