    Brakes was not biting as it used too.



    original calipers since 1988 so it was time to get them replaced for some peace of mind.

    raybestos rotors rusted and grooved.

    remove the bolts, carrier, and hose.

    inner pad was not making good contact.

    suspend caliper for time being while removing carrier and rotor.


    clean hub surface

    clean up all the hardware too.

    paid top dollars for these raybestos powerstops a few years ago and after verification they can be machined.



    almost new



    sprayed some rust inhibitor




    rebuilt caliper installed

    A member asked me what brand and model raybestos I used. So here are some pics of the brake job that was done 5 years ago. lol!!!












    do not get cross drilled rotors






    caliper pins should be replaced everytime.






    never get cross drilled





    always use lube

        I didn't really notice any difference with cross drilled and for a daily driver the holes tend to get mucked up. I have seen cross drilled rotors developing cracks from the holes.
        Slotted do give a better improvement and you will notice this more than drilled.
