  • EBC yellow brake pads

    any1 use them? if so what do you think? im looking into pads for my brake upgrade (just 92+ style on a beretta, nothing special)

    it will be daily driven and see the track every weekend for drag racing, auto x, and maby even road racing

    havent used the yellow but used the green... the green pads were great but ate my new rotors in less then 6 months... had heat cracks because of them... turns out the kevlar composit they quote has a lot in common with std ceramic pads... they deff stopped well but replacing rotors isnt a good trade off.

    my prefrence is carbon metalic pads. hawk pads are deff high on most peoples lists too when it comes to pads.

    the best thing i can recomend for brakeing power is stock solid rotors, a good set of pads and fresh DOT 4 fluid in the entire system. that is basicly what im runing now and ihave more then plenty of force to lock up my brakes... even with my wider 245 tires. its better to save the cash on the brakes... and spend it on tires.. spend the money on pads and fluid and put the rest that you would have used on rotors toward tires. more grip lets you stop better

      Ive never been able to lock up the tires on dry pavement. Even when I wasn't running 225's.

        i believe u have a 2 piston caliper with a bigger rotor... berettas have 1 piston and a small rotor. no way i could lock mine up with the stock brakes and the autozone "high performance" pad. im upgrading to the 92+ style beretta/corsica brakes at the same time

          Wow that sucks, I can lockup all 4 tires with ease! That's running regular rotors, full ceramic pads, fresh synthetic DOT3 fluid and SS brake lines.

            And then you have my situation where my brakes were made for cars 500 lbs lighter. My poor grand am has to share brake parts with the j-bodies. Otherwise I've had good luck with the EBC greens and I just installed a new set this evening. I might try the reds next.

              Reds sound nice.

              I have the 92+ brakes of course and they are nothing to write home about. The right pad will help a lot especially with brake fade. I have drums on the rear which aren't that bad other than when it rains they will lock up a little from the rust.

              You could always do the F-body brake upgrade...
