  • Looking for some brake help please...

I have a 94 GP 3.1 all bone stock that is in deperate need of new rotors out front. I'm trying to replaceing them and can't seem to get the caliper mounting bracket bolts to break free. Is there a special trick to it or do I pour the penetrateing oil to it and use alot of leverage? Thanx for any help and I am sorry if this is a question that has been answered millions of times.

use can use some penetrating oil, but a good 2foot breaker bar with maybe a pipe on the end will be the trick if you dont have air tools.

Say your working on the left side. turn your wheels all the way to the left. Gives you more room. Yea WD40 is your friend in this case. Also be sure not to round out the bolts. Then you have some real probs. Also Not to be an ass but make sure your going to right way.

Use a ½” t-60 and stick a pipe on the end of the ratchet, I used the bar from my jack. Turn the steering wheel so you can have the pipe sticking out of the fenderwell for more leverage. And last TORCH THE MOFO, that makes it 10000000x easier. Watch out I broke a t-60 and a 1/2 craftsman ratchet trying to get them off.

MOST IMPORTANT! IF you tighten them by accident they might never come off.
