  • Rear suspension for 95' Cutlass Supreme SL 4dr

I'm waiting on a new flexplate which will come Monday, and them I'm putting my motor and transmission back in. I'm going to make an appointment for new suspension for the rear cause it's low and makes a "ribut" like sound driving down the road.

The struts have been shot for a couple years but the cars mostly sat that time. Once I get the motor back in I'm want to replace the rear, if not the front too. But I think I may be short cause I'm investing in a 3400 with various upgrades which will take most of my income for the month.

My goal is to get the car pushing around 300HP to the crank so I'd like the suspension to compliment that as well. Not that I expect hard turning but it's just nice to know you have it.

Any suggestions would be great. Any guys with Cutlass' that have tried and tested vs stock suspension ect.

    Thanks

I have had good luck with just updateing the stock setup to the full FE3 setup. Handles really good, and has yet to disappoint.

I got a REAR MONOLEAF from an older Grand Prix SE (1989) with the FE3 that was in almost new condition (he had put a new one in the car a few years before it was totalled, so it was still basically a new monoleaf).

I used the larger rear sway bar from a Lumina Z34 (and I am planning on getting the ADDCO rear sway bar which is even bigger). I also have in the GMPP rear trailing arms (which are TUBULAR), as well as the MOOG spring pads).

My Struts are all MONROE REFLEX's.

I have not once been disappointed with the setup in this car, and it does not make funny noises.

By the way, this is all in my 1988 Cutlass Supreme.
