      • Basically what I'd like to see is the ball joint seat raised 3/4 of an inch to 1 inch higher than the stock location, or simply to make it level with the rest of the control arm. This corrects suspension geometry when you use lowering springs. The proper equation is raise the position 1/2 when the lowering springs take away, ergo a 1.5 inch drop spring should move the ball joint up 3/4 of an inch.

        • Wow, so let me see if I understand. You want the ball joint to be higher on the control arm, so that the arm has a greater angle, opposed to being flat when the car is lowered. Is this correct?

          • Correct. This will introduce proper negative camber when you corner giving you more contact patch and no riding the outside edge of the tire like I have been doing the past three years.

              • Not really. The best way to get traction off the line is to stiffen up the rear end so it doesn't squat.

                • yep, very true. Well I got the basic design down, just need to figure out how to raise the ball joint.

                        • When you finish the brakes and start on these let me know- especially if they allow the brakes to be used without a spacer.

                          • Thats exactly why I want to do these next. They will pull the rotor back in and will be a much better part than stock. I am going to be working on this design over the weekend.
