  • 16x8 Crosslace Grand Prix wheel info needed

About two months ago the driverside 15" cross lace wheels on my Fiero were ruined during a road impact. The wheels made my car look good even though it needs a paint job bad. I have found a set of TGP 16x8 wheels that I would like to have redrilled to fit my Fieros 5x100 pattern because they will allow me to use 245/50R 16s on the rear, for better traction and the offset will return the performance stance and add even more stability when it is lowered.

I need to know the offset of the wheels

since I have not actually seen the set I would like to purchase. When checking sizes on Tirerack non OE wheels, I received a +35mm offset for a Fiero and a +40mm offset on the TGP, but I need to go back and make sure it's on the same wheel.

The lace wheel in my opinion is one of the best looking wheels ever installed on a car if you've ever seen a set on a Trans AM, IROC Z28, or Buick Grand National, particularly the black center against a black, red or white car.

How can they be drilled for the smaller bolt pattern? There isn't enough room in the center of the wheel for it, even if there was, a lugnut and socket would no longer fit in the hole.

BTW, I do know the backspace is 5.5 inches. I don't know what that equates to for offset, I personally feel it's a useless measurement.

I haven't seen the wheels yet, and if there is not enough room for redrilling my hubs and rotors should have enough room to be filled and redrilled instead.

I would have to say that would be a better way to go. After I read your post, I went down to the basement and looked at one of the GP wheels I have, and didn't see any way possible to change the pattern size.
To make things a bit cheaper for future brake jobs, you may want to look into using rear rotors for a 6000 STE. They use the same calipers as a Fiero (not sure about an eighty eight), and have the larger pattern.

Joseph, the crosslace Grand Prix wheels have a +25mm offset.
