  • Wheel / Tire Swap Question

    Hi,
I have unfortunately totaled my 95 firebird v6. I just purchased a 91 formula M5 TPI with the WS6 suspension. On my 95 v6 I used to run 96 trans am wheels and tires. Would these wheels fit the 91 WS6 formula, which also comes with 16"X8" wheels? I was told that the offset on the 91 between the front and the rear wheels is different. Thus, the front wheels don't fit on the back. Could anyone verify this.
    Thanks in advance

    The Bolt pattern
    on the 1991 is 5x4 3/4
    and the 93' + is 5x4 3/4

    Offset is on the 93'+
    is Very High 70.3mm

I'm not Sure what the 92' and back is, sorry.

    Hope that helps a bit!

IF I FIND OUT THE OFFSET I'll tell you.

    Regards,
    Dave

You will need to use spacers, however I don't remember exactly how thick. I think it was about 2in on the front and 1&1/4 on the rear. If you can, just compare the wheels side by side and measure the diff in backspacing to get the thickness needed. On the '91, the rear has about an inch more backspace than the front. A front wheel works fine on the rear, but the rears will not work in the front.
