  • GA front end overhaul

alright, things have come to pass where I can't stand the noise, vibration, etc from the front end anymore; hubs scream like a spanked child, rotors pulsate so bad it shakes the whole friggin car, etc., etc. 150k miles, time for an overhaul

I'm setup a bit of a list of what I'm going to be buying and upgrading, once I have everything it'll be a weekend project (hopefully I can get some shop time for it) and all the parts will be replaced in one sitting

any opinions, recommendations, let me know:

    1999 Pontiac Grand Am GT

*LF & RF hub assemblies, either ACDelco units or Timken
*servicing I&O CV boots, both axles, neoprene inner and silicone outer boots
*LF & RF ball joints, Moog Chassis
*LF & RF I&O tie rods, Moog Chassis
*LF & RF neoprene bellows boots (might as well while I'm there)
*F-body calipers w/ ceramic pads (or low dust semi-metallics)
*Impala rotors, Brembo cross drilled (this is the right rotor application for the upgrade w/ stock wheels, correct?)
*LF & RF Monroe SensaTrak strut assemblies (including coils and bearings)
*front strut tower brace from a mid 90's W-body, adapted for my app

    Possibly (depending on funds):
*new front sway bar w/ poly mounts
*new rear sway bar w/ poly mounts
    *poly link pins
    *rear KYB adjustable struts
*rear Monroe coils and strut mounts
    *rear strut tower brace
*new rear calipers w/ ceramic pads
    *Brembo cross drilled rotors
    *parking brake shoes
*poly front & rear suspension bushings (If I can find cheaper than RSM's ass-rape price)

if everything comes together well before the overhaul, and if I have EVERYTHING, I might make a log of the upgrade. Am I missing anything, something I forgot to think of?

well i know that energy suspension has universal end links that will fit i think they are 9.8122(as i measured anyway), but they show a 9.8117 as an end link for the 97-98 GA, you just measure like they say on the website...also tejohnson had some energy susp bushings for vert and horizontal bushings for the lower control arm installed, but i dont know the pn's or anything, and i try to get ahold of him, but unsuccessful so far. i have the moog part for the front bushing kit, im just gonna call them up and see if they have the bushings that will fit my app by themselves, since they dont have an entire kit. they also show tie rod boots 9.13101, which look alot better than stock, still checking to see if they will work for ball joint boots also.
