Hey, is anybody else on here from Edmonton or reasonably close? I'm lookin' to collaberate on good shops and parts stores that may be found. Custom work you guys have done, anything really.
Im in Calgary along with quite a few other people. Most of us are L-body fans however there are a few J-body guys in town that we hang out with from time to time.
None that I know of.
I know 2 L-body guys in edmonton, one in Airdrie, and like 7-8 in Calgary. Then theres 8-10 J-body guys in Calgary too. I dont know of any local W-body guys.
Hmmm, Don't suppose any of them are running LQ1's? I'm kinda looking for somebody to collaberate with in person. I can't find anybody professional or otherwise that has a solid clue about the LQ1's. Such as sad state of affairs.
None that I know of. The LQ1 equipped cars seem to be pretty rare around here. I've only seen a couple on the streets and only ever seen 2 in the junkyards. Thats saying alot considering how often Im at the junkyard.
I haven't seen a single one in a junk yard around here. Plus, you're right there aren't many LQ1's around here, just a SHIT-LOAD of L67's. I've seen quite a few Z34's around but only a handfull of GP's. I guess that's good for me, makes my car that much more interesting.
Definately.
Im not sure if you'd be interested or not but a bunch of local J-body guys are planning on driving up to Red Deer I believe on September 4th for some dyno runs. Group rate is $45 for the first run, $25 for the second and $15 for a third I believe. I may be off on the prices, but I should be pretty close.
I'm definatily interested, however I can't right now. I'm going back to school in two weeks for my apprenticship training. So I won't have my normal disposable income. I love Red Deer though, such a hick town but I swear they have more solid preformace shops than Edmonton. Keep me posted though, I may just do it, I'm kinda impulsive sometimes.
You dont HAVE to run, just show up.
Im not going to be running on the dyno unless some miracle happens and my turbo is rebuilt and installed by then. Most of the Jspeed members should be there and a few GMFwd.com members might be showing up aswell. It should be fun and it gives everyone a chance to meet each other. Theres a BBQ afterwards too so we can all visit and shoot the sh|t.
Hey Paul! Whats up?
You should join us over on gmfwd.com so we can setup a time to get together!
Theres quite a few car enthusiasts we get together with every so often in Calgary. Infact, I work for one of the J-body guys and have another L-body guy sitting across from me playing on the laptop right now
