Shorts weather here is out of the question. The local "village idiot" at work (my name for him) finally wore pants for the 2nd time in the 8 months I've been there. I guess -5 F at 4:15am working beside an overhead door that opens and closes all day will do that... I bet it's hard to figure out why I gave him the name "village idiot", huh? Too bad it doesn't stop there...

I have a conflict of interest for this meet. This year's POCI convention will be in Bowling Green, KY this year. I wanted to go last year but work obligations didn't allow it. The POCI meet is July 5-10. Now to be honest, the things in the meet I really care about are the racing events and the car show. Those things are all taking place on the 7th, 8th, and 9th. They are still having open fun racing at Beech Bend on the evening of the 9th.
The only other times this summer that Beech Bend will have drag racing on Saturday night will be June 11th, August 20th, and September 17th. As of right now, those dates will work with getting a tour of the Corvette Museum. So there are two ways we can do this meet:
1) We combine our meet with the POCI meet. I will be in Bowling Green from July 6th thru the 10th. The host hotel is the Holiday Inn in town, but there's nothing that says you have to stay there. I would be happy to camp at Beech Bend with you guys and if you wanted we can do the POCI events as well. They'll be going to the Corvette museum on Thursday the 7th and racing at Beech Bend on the following two days as well as having an autocross on Saturday. I don't care a lot about banquets or seminars or swap meets so we could do our own things before and after the Corvette factory tour.
Now, I realize there is a lot that is unfair about this because I'm asking you guys to share our meet with another group and devote a lot of what we would do, but the reality is a large group like POCI has resources to plan events that I just don't have and there would be a lot to do that isn't related to 60degreev6 stuff. I guess to that I would say that last year everything we did was just to have fun and hang out with each other, this would be pretty much the same thing. Despite this, I would totally understand if you guys didn't want to do this, and in that case the other alternative is:
2) You guys have this meet without me. I loved hanging out with everyone that came out 2 years ago, but life just keeps getting busier for me the older I get, and I really can't see coming down to KY twice in a 2 months span. Again, the only other times this summer that Beech Bend will have drag racing on Saturday night will be June 11th, August 20th, and September 17th. I can take one of those times and say "this is when the meet is happening," but I won't be there. So I leave it up to you guys as I always have.Last edited by OldSkoolGP; 02-12-2011, 05:15 PM.I may own a GTO now, but I'm still a 60V6er at heart.

I wouldn't mind combining ours with them. But, would that mean my olds will be able to run or no? If I can't run her, then no I'd rather plan a different date. If I can run her, sure, the more the merrier.sigpicHow to make High performance Emissions:
A "true" High flow converter, straight pipe.
Low/No flow EGR valve, block off plate.
Carbon canister and purge valve mod, place in large 30 Gallon can, cover, and place curbside, the city will do the rest.
PCV valve and vent tube, reroute to exhaust to dump where it belongs, on the ground. Or add breathers and let it all free.

I'm kinda bummed that you are saying either we can do ours when they do theirs or else you won't be coming out.-60v6's 2nd Jon M.

Well, one thing's for sure................the fewer cars there, the more runs you can get in.1999 GLS MP90 supercharged / 2003 GL MP62 supercharged / 2004 GLS stock

Well, despite what's going on with Josh, we really should get the ball rolling to get a date set since spring is just around the corner. I can do whenever, I just need to know when. A caravan would rock for people up this way, but I wouldn't want to hold people up since I wouldn't be able to leave until after work. The way things go at work now, it's hard to say what time I would get off. I really would like to see a meet this year since last year bombed and I most likely would actually have a car to drive this year (if I can track down some affordable rims that don't look like complete crap that will fit over my brakes).-60v6's 2nd Jon M.

Well, we are down to 4 days a week this month, and who knows how long that will go on. I guess I should look at the bright side and say work wouldn't hold me up now, as long as I had $$$ to go. Who knows about taking the car now, thanks to this crap, but my wife does graduate from her RN program in 4 weeks, so that would help out greatly because now she would probably be making more money than me (but that's fine with me ). Worst case I could take my truck. I got a worst of 26mpg on the highway averaging around 80 with 3.73 gears (>.<) which I really didn't like going that fast seeing how I tach at almost 3k at 75. I love my tonnou cover, though, makes a world of difference-60v6's 2nd Jon M.
