  • I am hoping to actually be able to go. The wife has given me permission, so that's a start! The girls will most likely go up to Grandma's for the weekend. I will probably end up bringing the Cutlass, so I'll be repping the 90*V6. Not sure the wife would let me take her Rendezvous... Either way, I doubt I'll be taking either to the strip. I'll be more than happy to video everyone though!

      • Man I can't believe that all of you are thinking about traveling all those miles.
Post your rough travel mileage for everyone to see.

        • Its not as bad as 2002 or 2003...?? I was living in Kansas at the time and make the trip up to Ontario, Canada, for a meet. Been to Bowling Green twice, both traveling from Kansas.

As far as this year, the trip will be ... 539 miles. The Kansas years, it was 642 miles. And the trip to Canada was over 1000 miles.

          • I gotta say I am shocked by all the interest. This is gonna turn out to be one awesome event! Awesome to hear that you can make it, Brad. It wouldn't be a good meet without admins present to keep down the riff raff
I may own a GTO now, but I'm still a 60V6er at heart.

                • cheap guitar, and the bridge needs to be replaced. Its plastic and the strings sit to low on it cause I cut the slots a little too deep. They used to be too high.

You don't hear clunks and bangs over bumps anymore. And yes, it is a TIB suspension. I wish it were TTB (twin traction beam) because then it would be a 4x4.
If I make it to the meet, you'd better make it. I'm making no promises on taking the Saturn down the strip though. 'Course if it survives an upcoming 10,000 mile roadtrip to Alaska right before that, it could probably survive anything.

                      • Looking for fresh crab? Hey, I could bring my ancient laptop that I've brought every year before (lol) and my new ORiNOCO Gold WiFi card and 7 dBi gain external antenna in case the campground has free WiFi now. I wish I could get a job so I could just fix the 92 to bring that again, but you know what they say to do with wishes - something about wishing in one hand..... If I bring my truck, I could dismantle my gas grill. It's not like my wife would miss it, and it is one of those quick tool-less jobbies and the tank should be pretty full at the moment as well.

                              • Ok, guys. After talking with Ben, I have decided for Saturday that we will go to Mammoth Park and once we get there we will decide what we want to do since there is so much to choose from. And obviously we'll still be drag racing Saturday night. The only thing I'm still trying to decide on is where we'll be doing Sunday brunch. There are a couple good restaurant choices and I'll pick one soon.

I'm also setting the registration cutoff date for June 30th. Hopefully by then everyone will know if they are coming or not. I'm also going to make stickies in some of the sections about the meet and I'll be sending PMs out to everyone on the interested list to get more info about your ability to come and some questions. Please get back to me as soon as you can. On July 1st I'll be calling the Corvette asembly plant and making a reservation for the tour. It costs $5 a person to register which I will pay out of my pocket up front, but I'll need to get back from everyone either before the meet or before we go on the tour. If you wanted get me the money before the meet, I would really appriciate it as I am kinda strapped for cash right now.
I may own a GTO now, but I'm still a 60V6er at heart.
