whats a car if you cant drive it? a trophy... pretty to look at, but useful? no. i plan on driving the shit out of anything i build up and base mods off of that. i could have a 3.73 final gear but if i knew it would prevent me from enjoying it, i wouldn't do it

that and i want to see that Z24 in person, actually moving under its own power too.
1995 Monte Carlo LS 3100, 4T60E...for now, future plans include driving it until the wheels fall off!

I think i'm just getting too old. It does get over 30 MPG on the highway though... We'll see, i have the V6Z24 bash July 10-12th to attend. You guys are welcome to come to that if you are near Davenport, IA.

eek, 381 miles, too much for me... j/k. if i had a z24 i'd go but i likes the bigger cars... my dads z24 was nice though(think it was a 2.8 or 3.1 and 5 speed and for reasons still unknown to me, a supertrapp muffler)... if i had to get a smaller car, it would be like yours superdave.

I gotz an R/C helicopter you guys can watch me crash

I'm going to see if this will be feasible for me (and/or family), but if I go alone, will probably need to ride w/someone once there since I will be flying.

No Firebird, as I doubt it will be done by then

                    That's 944 miles for me

I did my undergrad work at Western Kentucky in Bowling Green. I can take some time to visit the campus. Sounds great!

I'm NOT a camper and anything less than a hot shower, mini-bar and a 35" TV is not having me stay the night, LOL!!

But a good motel is fine with me.

                        Hotels SUCK.

I prefer my car outside my room and in general it leads to more interaction if folks are outside rather than three or four floors seperated from the group.

But I am all for this. Let me know if I can help out!

They have hot showers at the camp grounds...just bring some flip flops The cars are right next to the tents too so that works out really well. Minibar? We have coolers. Can't help you on the TV though. We have fire, which trumps tv for me.

i know reading > me, but whens the timeframe on this? even if i went this year ( i might could swing it aug/sept) id just be driving the nissan. Fiero is still not been touched in 3 years.

OK, so this week I''m going to get in touch with Beech Bend park about camping and the drag racing to see if we can do a group deal on campsites and racing. I'll also be calling the Corvette plant about the tour. Initially, I'm going to assume we'll need a dozen campsites/rooms, and 20 people going on the tour. Cautious optimism on my part, but I'd rather bet small and have to increase numbers than the opposite.

The decision I need your help with is do we camp or stay in a hotel? That's item #1 on my agenda to sort out. Item #2 is the date. I have spoken to some people about that and the weekend I want to avoid planning the meet for is the first weekend in August (Pontiac Nationals), and given the news that just came out today about Pontiac, I know some people who are going to make going to that a priority. I have a VW fest over labor day weekend, however that is a national holiday and people will have that Monday off, and I would blow that off to do this instead. If you guys would like to spend that weekend having a meet, it would mean an extra day on Monday as opposed to Thursday.

Please help me with your input over the next couple days. Also, please try to keep the thread on point. I know it may be a long trip for some people, but you're either willing to make it or you aren't. I hope you are, but I don't need to hear why you aren't.
I may own a GTO now, but I'm still a 60V6er at heart.
