The 4.9L V8 is an OHV engine it shares nothing with the Northstar. It will bolt to any 60 degree bellhousing with no modifications. The Northstar is an DOHC engine. It has the 60 degree pattern except the bolt hole in the 3 o'clock position requires modification to work with a 60 degree bellhousing.
