  • 3.4sfi in a 34 plymouth

Im totally new to this forum and motor type. I have a 95 camaro 3.4 sfi with auto that ive fit into my 34 plymouth coupe. It fits like the car was made for it. Ive got all the cables and computer but am considering going to a carburetor to avoid all the problems associated with the sfi. Is this stupid or resonable. Secondly - if i go to a normal carb setup what will happen with the electronic transmission - do I have to dump it or is there some way to make it work?

    thanks for any advice

you can go carbed but you'll have to buy a transmission controller. i think summit sells one. personaly i'd stay fuel injected. for a car that heavy i'd switch to an older style intake from a 2.8 or 3.1 camaro for the longer runners and better torque off the line. its a matter of opinion between carb or efi, just about everyone here is efi. just the same 95 seems to be a black year for tuneability with the pcms, so you might save a lot of hassle go carbed.

      Hi,
We use the 3.4L L32 Camaro 93-95 motor in MGB conversions with great success. The Standard PCM works wonderful even for a car that is 1,000 pounds lighter then the Camaro and can only believe it would work just as well for you. I also have a standard 3.4L L32 with the standard PCM that I run in my 1982 S10 that pulls a tandem axle car trailer without issues to speak of.

Anyways, I have a store for parts for this motor which if your interested, I can guide you to otherwise if you go here:
The Dark Side: V8, V6 & 4 Cylinder engine conversions for MGB, MGA, Midget and all other MG models. Purists beware!

you will find alot of my posts and other posts by people who use this motor in the MGB. The car may be different, but the information you are looking for is VERY good at this site. Please go through anything that speaks about the V6 as 95% of V6 info there is the GM 60 degree V6 and the majority of postings are for the V6 anyways.

      Hope the info helps.
