  • Oil pan torque spec

I need the oil pan torque spec for a '91 3.1, so if one of you fellers can let me know, that would be most excellent.

I just pulled the engine from a '91 z24 (seized up, but going to rebuild with high performance) and I haven't gotten around to getting a manual yet. I pulled an engine from a '90 beretta with a 2.8. Luckily the guy who owned it before had just rebuilt it, increasing the stroke to make it a 3.1, which was excellent news since it was a free car. Just the plenum is different. However, It's actually my girlfriend's car, and I blew the engine, heh. I just have to say, GM stands for "Get Money" if you all were wondering, because just replacing the valve cover gaskets, plugs, plug wires, oil pan gasket, and engine degreaser cost me a c-note. That's with a 10% discount from Advanced Auto. Anyway, there's no point in buying the manual since by the time you take two of the same engine's out, there's not too much you don't know about it. I can't wait until I start rebuilding the other 3.1, because i'll be needing a body for it . I wonder if they make a twin turbo set for the z24s.

sorry, no twin turbos unless you got time and money, skill willplay a big part in it since you'l have fabricate it all.

torque specs are 10-12 ft/lbs i think. pretty much you snug it down nicely then give it another 1/4 turn. too tight and you'll crush the gasket and ruin it.
If you aren't friends with a liar, you aren't friends with anyone.
