    Woops my fuck up. I forgot they had MPFI with distributors on the FWD cars for a few years. Im in s-10 world where EFI started in 86.

    Hell I made the tree you think I could remember this shit.

    But in any case anything GEN II had to be internal balance because it used DIS ignition and that requires a reluctor wheel and a reluctor wheel is what gives the crank the mass to be internal balance.
    1993 EXT. CAB, 3.4L V6 TBI, 5spd manual. Sonoma

      87 was the gen 2 motor. this motor had the big wight on the flex plate. and no the motor didnt shake like a crack whore, it purred like a kitten. this motor was 100% for sure an external balanced gen 2 2.8l mpfi. and no there isnt a possibility of the crank being swapped with a gen 1 being the gen 1 had no reluctor wheel on it.

      86 was a gen 1 motor (what my car is) and my buddies 87 was a gen 2 motor.

          i might have, whats his name???

          i gotta see if my buddy still has the old flex plate. we did this motor swap 3 years ago, but i have the shortblock at my house.
