  • 3.6 VVT Engine Swap/Fiero GT

I am considering 3.6 VVT engine swap into 1988 Fiero GT. Currently I am in the information aqusition stage. Does anyone have the 3.6 VVT exterior engine dimensions (Width, Length, and Height) as well as weight and engine mount boss locations? I am also trying to determine what transmissions will bolt up to the 3.6 VVT. Please advise.

    Thanks,

All 60* V6 transmissions will work. You could use your stock one. Your biggest problem will be finding a motor. They are only a few years old and in a very select number of vehicles.

There is a huge picture gallery on this site you should look through that.

        3.6 VVT Engine Swap/Fiero GT

"betterthanyou", thanks for info on tranny. 88 GT currently has Gert 282. I have reviewed the 3.6VVT information on site. Interesting, but still need exterior engine dimensions etc. So far I have located 40 assorted 3.6 VVT out of CTS and SRX caddy's and 1 out of Buick Rendovous as of 5/10/05 (One Day Listing). The magic bullet will be when 3.6 VVT Buick LaCrosse versions start showing up.

"Shaun41178", The 3.6 VVT will be a self installation, and currently budget is about $6,000.00 +. Budget really depends on time, and need for speed.

        Thanks Much for Information

Figure dimensions to be similar to that of the TDC 3.4L. Not much better information I can give you.
