2.8l to 4.3l tbi swap

got a 1986 s10 2.8l w/ automatic trans was about to install a 4.3l tbi unit bt i found more than a few problems. Some simple others abit more complicated. the throttle likage is upside down. The throttle body is off of a 89 s10 4.3l w/ automatic trans. any ideas?? or should i try to find another tbi unit. if so off of what.

foot note: the throttle and cruise mount on the bottom, and the trans kick down cable is on the top of the linkage on the 2.8l and exactly the opposite on the 4.3l i have.

Remove the 4.3L Bracket and install the 2.8L one.

what about the mounting of the bracket for the throttle cables. there are holes drilled into the side of the tbi unit. also can i swap the tps sensor

Try and find a Unit that already has the holes. if not you will have to drill and tap.

if the TPS sensors are not the same you CANNOT swap them. They will not interchange.

the one on my pick up comes out straight and the one on the 4.3l comes out on a 90degree angle. theplug looks the same and it mounts the same

Oh yes in that case you can.

I thught you were talking new vs old style.

New oned have a D shaped connector. Old style ones have 3 pins in a row.
