Is the spare wire white? It may be the tach wire.
It is hard to say without seeing it. I will be able to get you a diagram when I get home.1993 EXT. CAB, 3.4L V6 TBI, 5spd manual. Sonoma

You need to change distributors
When I did my conversion on my 85 Fiero 2.8, I used a Chevy Blazer vacuum distributor. My carb is the Holley 2300 on an Edelbrock intake.
My electricals are essentially Blazer electricals without the Fiero ECM and that spaghetti wiring harness.
I think my distributor was out of an 85 Blazer, but it could have been any early 80's Blazer 2.8 distributor before they went electronic.Arn Brown
