Yes, the flywheel/flexplate diamters are different between FWD and RWD, they use the same clutch however, at the very least you can interchange the FWD clutch and RWD clutch, until you try and use an aftermarket clutch like the CenterForce. The CenterForce uses weights on teh fingers which will not clear the FWD bell housing.

I noticed your screenname, do you own a De Lorean? I am a rather fond follower of this car as well.
Peace out,

I was hoping to get an engine in there that came with torque as a standard feature. My other car has a 406 V8 and 3.70 gears. The Spyder is lacking in the get up and move your tail dept even with the gts setup.
My plans for the 2zz are to clean it up while its out, weld a few coolant ports that I don't need but simply plugged with rubber caps as a band-aid last year, replace the oil pump with a better aftermarket one and put in a new rear main since I have it laying on the bench.
I do not own a DeLorean yet. I expect to have one in the forseeable future. The name comes from an old screen name I had that was dmc12mx5. That name was because at the time I was driving a miata and had started a project to put gullwing doors on it. I created a working frame but then realized how important the factory doors are in a unibody car. At the time I did not have any welding abilities so I had to give it up. Now I have the abilities, and I keep the idea of putting the gullwings on the Spyder in the back of my head. I changed my screen name about 4 years ago to reflect this. I too am a big fan of DeLoreans, it is my favorite car of all time.
