hey v6h.o., i as in the junkyard today and i came across an aurora. and by looking at it. some of the parts seem almost indistinguishable from the n*. is there any interchange between the motors? the intake manifold looked exactly like a n*, tb was the same size too.The Official Rotating Mass Nazi

are the block the same then? if that is the case what effect would the aurora heads have on a n*? they already make 280 with smaller displacement of the 4.0 and it might be a good bet the combustion chambers are smaller too. only thing i don't know is if there is a valve size difference, if not then slap those bad boys on a 4.6 and maybe swap in the 300 horse n* cams and see what happens.
although this isn't a 90 degree board, the n* is a dohc motor and shares 1 maybe 2 similairities with the 3.4 dohc. i am looking into possible benefits of them.
then again who wants to take the heads off of an aluminum engine anyway, don't want to pull the threads out.The Official Rotating Mass Nazi

Well for the record on "cramping" the N* into a W-body, i know a guy who put a N* into his 1989? golf (i think, i can't remember the exact year)
His name is Cam, he also had one of those pocket bikes souped up, unfortunately he fell at nearly 80mph but he came out of it "ok" (minus some brain damage, and supposed rumors that they had to remove half his brain :s) One of the best tuners i've ever met. But if he can fit a N* into a golf there should be absolutely no problem getting it into a W-body. It CAN be done, but it wouldn't be a drop and go setup... transmission mounts, engine mounts, maybe cut out some firewall and fender (although i can't see it to be honest).
People saying the N* is too wide and tall, remember, w-body's also have DOHC's, and they're very high, not so much wide, but there is also about 12 inches of room beside the engine.2001 Mustang GT
