speedo signal from a 284???

I am swapping a 5spd 284 with its packaged/matched 3.4dohc into my fiero; I am not sure (or maybe confident ) of the signal it will put out for running the speedo. Does anyone know for sure what it is? I don't plan on using the stock fiero speedo so that isn't an issue...... I think.
I will likely go with a programmable Autometer or similar.

I had this cross posted in the hopes of getting an answer but I finally found it myself anyway. So here it is in case it is of any use to anyone in the future.

A guy who does fiero swaps etc etc had a very good thread on a 3.4 dohc swap into a fiero and in that thread he mentioned that the stock Vin X ECM was looking for 24,000 pulses per mile from the 5 spd VSS.

So, that is the best info I have and hopefully it will work with an aftermarket speedo.
