    Very cool, very cool indeed.

What are you planning to use for engine managment?

Any other progress pics, headers, mounts, during install, etc?

Raven,I have the chevy factory fuel injection working. I just took the whole harness from the car and made it work. I have some pics of the engine mount bar for the front and some of the caster/camber plates I made for the front suspention. Also starting to work on installing Volvo 240-four piston brake calipers for the front. I can post some more progress pics after vacation.(week after Thanks Giving.) Hope to get more done while I'm off too........

I'm interested to know why you chose the GM 60v6 over other options such as a flat six or flat four.

Not that I don't like it, I think that would be a fun little car. I've always liked the 914s. Is that the stock 914 transaxle in there?

Nice work! What are the plans for the car, street toy, drag racing, autocross/roadrace?

Once you get it dialed in and running, that thing will be begging for a gen3 topend swap and a turbo

That will just flat-out r0ck in such a car. I'm inspired! I oughta find me a little sports car to build up like that.

Ridgerunner,my sons had a 1991 Corsica that had been hit in the left front. So I had access to the whole car. Besides my wife has owned two Grandprixs with this engine and I just love how it makes power! Also the Porsche flat 6 is way out of my range (read;$$$$$$$$) and yes, that is the stock 914 transaxle. It should rock,if I can get 175-200HP out of my engine the car will weight somewhere around 1900lbs.

Racerx11,yes,all of the above except for the drag racing, the transaxle is the weak link. I am going to autox it and maybe when I get some seat time I'll do a DE event.

Brad,I talked to my son this past weekend and he is up to picking up the parts if it is not too far out of his way.

That is freaking sweet. Congratulations! very nice project indeed!

With the Gen3 top end, that thing should put a big grin on your face.

How much room do you have for headers? Your likely looking at something completly custom. I would go 1-5/8ths (OD) piping, If you cant do Long tubes, do some close to equal length 17-19 inch pipes to get the secondary pulse tuning of the exhaust. or if you can fit Long tubes in there do a 36-38 inch long tube.

Chris might have still have some GEN3 style header flanges to sell..

                    More pics!

v6h.o.,there is tons of room for headers. The only thing to clear would be the halfshafts. My thoughts were to put two short mufflers across the back of the car ( the orignal was all the way across) then exit out the center under the valance panel. Ala... Porsche Boxster style.
If some one has some flanges for sale that means I wouldn't have to reinvent them.
I'll post some more pics tomorrow,so stay tuned.

I am with Colin on this one...it sounds like you have some room to play, so go with long tubes. Or, if you want to experiement, some stepped long-tube headers would be interesting...not many FWD cars have the room to route the pipes, let alone use stepped primary tubes. You would be paving new ground with this, so it might be difficult to get tubing sizes/lengths for the proper powerband.

My advice would be to find some sort of cross-flow muffler that has dual inlets, or use some kind of crossover tube to combine the two banks. These V6's tend to sound like crap if you have two individual banks with no crossover....they are basically two 3-cylinders....not very audibly pleasing. You could bring the two banks together in the center of the car into an X-pipe, then split them back to two mufflers exiting out the sides, like this (warning..I have no artistic ability, so this picture sucks). I don't know if there will be enough room behind the trans for this type of setup.
